The Prime Minister insisted individuals were not being targeted, and UN Security Council resolutions permitted attacks on "command and control" bases.
But the Libyan regime reacted furiously, branding the missile strike an illegal assassination attempt.
Mobs also stormed diplomatic premises belonging to the UK and other Nato members in Tripoli, prompting Foreign Secretary William Hague to expel Libya's ambassador from London.
Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, 29, the dictator's sixth son, died when his house was hit by at least one missile fired by a Nato warplane, according to Libyan government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim. "This was a direct operation to assassinate the leader of this country. This is not permitted by international law. It is not permitted by any moral code or principle," Mr Ibrahim added.
That sounds right to me.

Gadaffy Son and Grandchildren Dead...All I can say GOOD Those Children would have grown up as the same MURDERING criminal Pigs ,just like his SONS ,why should we have Equal pity as we have for all the innocent Children of the Civilians Children,who where Murdered ,on his command ....GOOD they are Dead ,I hope the rest of this Parasitic Family will have the same end....good riddance
Libya was not involved in the Lockerbie bombing. Gaddafi had renounced all involvement with terror a while back, and much of what was ascribed to him in the past is not true.
War needs history to be told a certain way. It usually turns out all to have been lies when the last bullet has flown. Why bother getting emotionally involved in what is probably all fabrication?
We are all human beings. The powerful want their prizes at the expense of any number of lives. They just don't care about human life. It is not good to become brutalised like that on their behalf.
