TAP - The national slogan 'It's more fun in The Philippines' only applies as long as you keep your mouth shut about the appalling unfairness of the Philippine cartel economy where the corporations make fortunes and the ordinary people struggle with rising food prices and excessive electricity bills. The climate is so fertile you can grow 5 maize crops in a single year, yet somehow they manage to not have enough food to go around. All the big names like Dole, Del Monte are here to grow their fruits. The Philippines is/should be The Garden Of Eden. Yet the capital's streets are covered in hungry and dirty people sleeping on cardboard. The suppression of any complaints is entirely brutal.

Obama will arrive in the Philippines shortly with his usual spiel and rhetoric like "Our countries hold fast to a longstanding friendship" BULLSHIT! "The economic benefits to the Philippines will be", "etc." BULLSHIT!
ReplyDeleteThe facts are that the USA and its NATO cohorts need the Philippines as a military base to further expand their Asiatic hegemony. If the USA really had its way the Philippines would be another Diego Garcia scenario.

Gordon.
Well said Gordon, the people of the Philippines have good reason to hate the Americans, they have destroyed the Country.
ReplyDeleteIs there any Country that does like Obama ?
Ignore the monster don't applaud his poor speeches.
The "usual suspects" made up of those infamous names/families comprising the corporatist cabal pirates who have systematically "owned" those islands by bribery, corruption, threats and sweets. A beautiful country of wonderful people who all seem to have such high objectives and aspirations and for the most part are ready to work like beavers to better themselves while those same corporations grow bigger and wield even more control. As you rightly say Tap, the fertility of the land and the bounty of the seas is incredible and should provide enough food for all and financial rewards for those who work. Alas, the same familiar pattern is seen here as everywhere else. Might is right and corporatists own everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that can change this is a global rebellion by like minded people and supporters.
