SIGN THE PETITION TO
Muhtar Kent, CEO, the Coca-Cola Company
I was disappointed to learn that Coca-Cola contributed more than $3.2 million to defeat the state initiatives to label genetically engineered foods (or GMOs) in California and Washington. With a new ballot initiative coming in Oregon in November, I urge your company to stop contributing money to state or national campaigns against the labeling of GE food.
Polls have repeatedly shown that the overwhelming majority of Americans—over 90% in most polls—believe GE foods should be labeled. While Coca-Cola claims to provide choice to consumers, you are denying choice by funding the defeat of these measures.
Please stop trying to keep us in the dark about GE foods, and issue a public statement that Coca-Cola will no longer contribute money to anti-labeling efforts.
Signed,
Center for Food Safety
