How PR practitioners mess with your brain to please their corporate masters

Up until the early 20th century women didn't smoke. 

It was considered a dirty, unattractive, unladylike activity. Thus millions of lives - including those of children - were spared the diseases associated with smoking. But the tobacco companies wanted more money so they hired the evil genius Edward Bernays to "engineer" women into smoking. 

The tragedy is his maneuvers worked. And the approach he took to public manipulation is still being used today, every day. -
