Maybe we will have to wait some years!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30136383.post-64952036047510228782008-06-26T12:45:00.000+00:002008-06-26T12:45:00.000+00:00If the Serbs enter the EU, they will do so, in eff...If the Serbs enter the EU, they will do so, in effect, be abolishing themselves as an independent nation state, so wether Kosovo is a part of Serbia or not is totally irrelevant: if they join the EU.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30136383.post-47036037394979116212008-06-26T04:34:00.000+00:002008-06-26T04:34:00.000+00:00The UN General Secretary has asked EULEX to operat...The UN General Secretary has asked EULEX to operate as the deputy of UNMIK, lending it credibility and enabling its functioning to take place within Resolution 1244.

However the independence of Kosovo which EULEX is in place to enforce is outside the terms of Resolution 1244.

The UN is acting in breach of its own Resolution.

Or at least the General Secretary has done so.

He doesn't have the support of the Security Council, which might subsequently approve or veto his decisions.

Whichever way, there is going to be a major crisis at the UN, when next they meet.

As Serbia is no longer required to recognise Kosovo to be permitted to join the EU, it seems all sides are being entered into the EU with indecent haste.

Yet the issue of Kosovo is unresolved between the parties, Serbia and the Albanians, and within the EU's 27 members where 7 still refuse to recognise Kosovo, and some, notably Spain are actively campaigning against recognition.

The EU hopes to submerge all past national identities into a Balkan blaumange. Yet the EU itself is unable to establish a coherent identity through the Lisbon Treaty.

It's a large-scale committee-designed cock-up, which is inviting a clear-thinking, simple, strong outsider such as Russia to establish a bit of order over the situation.

NATO is unlikely to seek a war with Russia being overextended in Afghanistan. The situation is unlikely to remain as it is.Tapestryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17267094484651413428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30136383.post-61074000646216578022008-06-24T21:21:00.000+00:002008-06-24T21:21:00.000+00:00The EU action inmuz Serbia is illegal.
