Military coup possible in Turkey

The ongoing unrest in Turkey may lead to a new military coup in that country, Israeli political expert Avigdor Eskin told ArmInfo.
PM Erdogan is losing favor in places where is party was once strong. The entire intellectual class, the middle class, have come on the same side of the fence against Erdogan and his creeping islamism.  I don’t know how that reflects on conservative islam but theprotests continueto grow as they enter its 6th day.

“At present, a military coup is also possible, given that it once had happened in Turkey before. If the police display violence and the victims to clashes reach significant scales, a new military coup is quite possible,” Eskin said.  

In that respects it reminds me of Egypt but we all now know that did little to actually change the situation in Egypt for the better.  Lliberal secular forces have been suppressed and islamism reignsin Cairo.  Again, I wish the Turks the best of luck, get what you want and settle for nothing less. Turkish Cyprus government falls

printable version 5 June 2013 The Turkish Cyprus government fell today as a motion of censure passed from the Parliament. A group of lawmakers from the ruling National Unity Party (UBP) recently issued a motion of censure with opposition parties, pushing the country into political turmoil. Out of 50 seated-Parliament, 27 lawmakers voted for the motion while 21 lawmakers voted against it. The ruling party and the opposition agreed last month to hold early elections on July 28. Parliamentary elections were due to be held in April 2014. The Parliament spekaer Hasan Bozer said the Prime Minister İrsen Küçük should submit his resignation to President Derviş Eroğlu in accordance with the internal regulation.
